BIG Animal Jam Classic Update! Free Membership Code, Elegant Emerald Bundle, Otters & MORE! (May 2022)
Hey Jammers!
Today I'll be reviewing the Animal Jam Classic update that released on Thursday, May 5th.
On the first page of the Jamaa Journal, we have a Free Membership Code!
Yep, you read that right. This month only, all Jammers can redeem the code "AJPLAY" to receive two weeks of free membership for both Animal Jam Classic and Animal Jam, a Spring Bunny animal, and a Spring Small House den! In Animal Jam (non-Classic/Play Wild) you'll receive a Spring Bunny and Spring Small House too, alongside a Masterpiece Token. This was already covered in the latest Animal Jam update, but it's nice to see it being covered in Animal Jam Classic too.
On the second page of the Jamaa Journal, we have the Elegant Emerald Bundle!
A new month means a new Animal Jam Classic bundle! This bundle contains a Frolicking Fox, Pet Ferret, Peck's Den as well as the Blooming Emerald Armor and the Elegant Spring Outfit, and it's available for 30 Diamonds in the Diamond Shop, as always. Every item in this bundle besides the outfit sets has been previously released elsewhere, though isn't currently available outside of the bundle.
Let's review this bundle, item by item:
The Frolicking Fox is a lovely animal, one of my favourites in Animal Jam Classic, actually! I think the pattern is beautiful and the Fox itself is a really great animal that suits lots of different outfits. If you don't have a Frolicking Fox and you have the Diamonds to spare, I'd say this bundle is worth it just for that!
The Pet Ferret isn't one of my favourite pets, but it's kinda cute, I guess. It does have some pretty hilarious Pet Stop items though - like, look at this robber outfit:
Next up is Peck's Den, which I couldn't possibly show in one screenshot, so I'm not even gonna try! It's a pretty large den, and it's one of those dens that crosses the line to being too large in my opinion. Decorating a den like it is really difficult and time consuming. It's also a very colourful den, so depending on the items you have it could be tough to decorate - it's a lot less "neutral" than some other dens. Not my favourite, but for the right Jammer it could definitely be awesome.
Now, let's go through the accessory sets. Here's the Blooming Emerald Armor:
This armor appears to consist of reskinned items from the Garden Flower Outfit and the Flower Armor, so it's not 100% new, but it's pretty nonetheless. I think I prefer the originally coloured items from the other set, so this isn't my fave, but I don't actually own either the Garden Flower Outfit or the Flower Armor, so it's nice to own a variant of some of the items from those now.
Here's the Elegant Spring Outfit:
This outfit is a recolour of the Sakura Yukata outfit, and while I don't like it as much as the Sakura Yukata outfit, I still think it's quite pretty. I really like the tail item, as well as the cultural roots of the outfit. I think the head flower is a bit small and makes the head look a bit bare compared to the rest of the body, but that's my only minor gripe.
And that's the full Elegant Spring Bundle, reviewed!
On the third page of the Jamaa Journal, we have the announcement that Otters are Here!
Otters haven't been available for around 8 months, so it's nice to see them return. The amount of puns in this announcement is otterly painful though. In all seriousness, I'm glad Otters are back! They're a wonderful-looking animal, plenty of items fit them very well, and they can explore both oceans and lands. Not bad!
On the fourth page of the Jamaa Journal, we have Pet Foxes!
Pet Foxes are very cute, so I'm glad to see them return to Animal Jam Classic. The speed at which they blink is somewhat terrifying though, it's so sllllloooooowwww - or maybe it's just my laggy computer!
My new Pet Fox!
It's also worth noting that even though it wasn't announced in the Jamaa Journal, Pet Geckos have returned to the Diamond Shop, too!
On the fifth page of the Jamaa Journal, we have Stop Before You Hop!
I'm glad Animal Jam put this announcement out, with the rise of link scams. If you don't know, a link scam is a scam where somebody sends you a link claiming it's one thing, but when you click on the link they actually have the chance to get all your information which lets them log into your Animal Jam account and potentially take your items. Stay safe, and avoid link scams!
On the sixth page of the Jamaa Journal, we have Graham's Workshop!
This is a fun seasonal adventure that's been released for a limited time every year since 2015. In this adventure, you collect materials and turn them into many unique den items and accessories which you can use and wear outside the adventure. I'm not sure if there are any new items available this year, though we'll be finding out pretty soon if they are as thousands of Jammers gather at Graham's Workshop.
On the seventh page of the Jamaa Journal, we have the Beta Party!
This is a cool party that occurs for a limited time every year, around the anniversary of the beginning of Animal Jam Classic's open beta testing. There are some super cool beta-themed items to be found in this party, and it's even set in the original den from the beta! Worth a visit if you're wanting some unique new items.
This den is one of my favourites on Animal Jam, so it's nice to see it make a return in Animal Jam Classic. It's a great summer den that is really fun to decorate, and it's pretty neutral so it can work with quite a few styles. I definitely recommend it!
On the ninth and final page of the Jamaa Journal, we have the Summer Carnival!
A classic in both Animal Jam and Animal Jam Classic, the Summer Carnival has returned! This was one of my favourite things to do when I started playing Animal Jam (back when it was called Animal Jam: Play Wild), and I still really enjoy it. The games are super enjoyable to play and earning Tickets to spend on some of the kooky carnival items is really fun.
Aaaand that's it for the latest Animal Jam Classic update! Definitely a solid update, even if it's mostly returning content. My favourite part was totally the Elegant Emerald Bundle, as well as the Free Membership Code.
